Fees & Insurance
Fees:
- Payment is required at the end of each session and can be made via cash, cheque, or e-transfer.
- The cost for individual sessions is $150 (excluding tax) for a 50-minute session.
- The cost for group sessions is $100 (excluding tax) for a 50-minute session.
- A sliding scale fee of $50-$120 is available, depending on household income and extended health benefits.
- All sessions are conducted by a Registered Play Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor

Insurance:
- Your extended health plan might cover the cost of sessions if it includes counseling services by Registered Play Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor. Please confirm with your provider directly regarding your coverage.
- Currently, direct billing is not available.
- After paying at the end of each session by cash, cheque, or e-transfer, you will receive a receipt via email, which you can use to submit a claim to your extended health provider.

Cancellation Policy:
To avoid being charged the full fee for a missed appointment, please email lisa@sunshineptc.ca at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Services Initiation
If you're prepared to move forward or need more information, please email lisa@sunshineptc.ca or fill out the online form to schedule a free 20-minute virtual or phone consultation with me. I'll respond within 1-2 business days.
During this consultation, I'll answer your questions about the services and discuss them with you to ensure they meet your needs.
When you're ready to proceed, we'll arrange an intake session.
If at any point during the consultation we determine that we are not a good match, I will do my best to refer you to other appropriate providers.
Intake Session
The intake session is our initial meeting for counseling. In this session, we will go over the necessary paperwork, discuss your particular issues, whether for you or your child, and establish a plan for future counseling sessions. This will also be a chance for us to explore your goals for counseling and to get to know one another better.
Sessions Duration and scheduling arrangement
Individual and group sessions usually last 50 minutes each. The frequency of these sessions varies based on your needs and counseling objectives. Generally, sessions are held either once a week or every two weeks.
Appointment Cancellation or Reschedule
To cancel or reschedule an appointment without incurring a full fee charge, please email lisa@sunshineptc.ca no later than 48 hours before your scheduled time.
Transportation and Parking
My office is situated at 308-4885 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC V5H 4T2. It's approximately a 30-minute drive from North Vancouver, Vancouver, Richmond, the Tri-Cities, New Westminster, and Surrey City Centre.
Free 2-hour commercial parking is available on the ground floor of the building’s parkade.
Alternatively, if you prefer using public transit, the nearest SkyTrain station is Metrotown, just a 5-minute walk from the office. Numerous buses also stop at Metrotown station.
